Mark Hammer is the Course Director at River City Scuba, PADI’s highest instructor rating, and has been passionate about diving since his very first experience underwater. His journey began in November 2015 when a friend invited him to try a Discover Scuba dive. Instantly hooked, he earned his Open Water certification the following month.

Motivated by a deep love for the underwater world, Mark quickly advanced through the professional ranks, becoming a Divemaster within a year. In February 2017, he achieved his Open Water Scuba Instructor certification—one of the most rewarding milestones of his diving career. He continued progressing through the instructor levels to ultimately earn his Course Director rating.

In addition to training divers, Mark is certified in Underwater Criminal Investigations and has participated in multiple missions assisting local law enforcement agencies. He enjoys all aspects of diving, including teaching and mentoring new divers, underwater photography, and exploring colder-water environments.

Mark is passionate about introducing people of all ages and experience levels to diving and continually pursues advanced training to better support his students’ goals. He looks forward to meeting you around the shop and welcoming you into the world of diving.
